A home for the songs we carry

Songcarrier is the online home of my HeartSongs Songbook: 171 mantras, circle songs and global heart songs I've gathered over many years of singing in circles, at kirtans and around fires.

Why I made it

These songs found me one circle at a time. Someone would start singing, the room would join in, and something in me would open. I started writing them down so I could carry them, and so I could share them with the people who asked, "what was that song?" The book grew from there, and this site lets anyone find a song, learn its chords and meaning, and meet the person who wrote it.

A song carrier

A song carrier doesn't own the songs. We learn them, sing them with care, and pass them on with their story and their source. That's the Songcarrier’s Code, and it's why every song here names who it comes from and links to their music, and why the traditional songs and mantras carry their meaning and how to say the words.

Who I am

I'm Francie La Flow, a voice healer, musician and song circle leader. Ubud, Bali has been my home base for sixteen years, on and off. I lead singing circles and sound healing at The Yoga Barn, sing kirtan, play at the BaliSpirit Festival, and train facilitators to lead their own circles. More about me and my work.
